Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information Galaxy Phone Help collects, what it does not collect, and how the tools on this site work. This is an independent help site for seniors and beginners with a Samsung Galaxy phone. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Samsung. The short version is this: the site does not collect your personal data, the tools run locally in your browser, and nothing you type into a tool is sent to this site or stored by this site.
The short summary
When you visit this site and read a guide, the site does not ask for your name, your address, your phone number, or any account details. There are no accounts on this site, so you do not sign up, sign in, or create a profile. There is no comment system and no contact form. The only way to contact the site owner is by email, using the address shown on the Contact page, and sending an email is your own choice. This site does not use analytics, and it does not use advertising cookies at this time. That means the site does not track which pages you visit in order to build a profile about you, and it does not show advertising that follows you around the web.
The tools on this site — the Scam Call/Message Checker, the Strong Passphrase Maker, the Phone Storage Checker, the Text-Size Preview, the New Galaxy Setup Checklist, the Emergency Contact Card Maker, and the Battery/Charging Checker — all run locally in your web browser, on your own device. Whatever you type into a tool stays in your browser. It is not sent to a server run by this site, it is not stored in a database, and it is not shared with anyone else by this site. When you close the page, the information you typed into most tools is gone from the page. The one planned exception is described below, under local storage, and it stays on your own device.
What the site does not collect
This site does not collect personal data through its pages. It does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, dates of birth, passwords, bank details, or location data through any form, because there is no form on this site. It does not ask you to enter your Samsung account details, your Google account details, or any one-time code. If any page on this site ever seemed to ask for such details, do not enter them, and treat that as a warning sign, because this site is not designed to ask for them.
This site also does not run user accounts, subscriptions, or mailing lists. It does not send newsletters, and it does not ask you to agree to marketing messages. It does not use analytics software to record how individual visitors move through the site, and it does not use advertising cookies at this time. If that ever changes in the future, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect, and the change will be described here in plain language. Until then, the plain statement stands: no analytics, and no advertising cookies.
How the tools work, and where your information stays
Each tool is a small program that runs in your browser. When you answer a question in the Scam Call/Message Checker, for example, the tool reads your answers on your own device and shows you a result on the same page. That result is produced on your device. No copy of your answers leaves your device to reach this site. The same is true for the other tools. The passphrase maker creates a passphrase on your device, and that passphrase is never sent anywhere by this site. The emergency contact card maker builds a card on your device from the names and numbers you type, and those names and numbers never leave your browser through this site. The storage checker, the text-size preview, and the battery and charging checker work the same way: you answer questions or try a preview, and the result stays on your screen.
This local design is deliberate. The tools deal with sensitive topics, such as scam messages, passwords, and emergency contacts. Keeping that information on your own device is safer than sending it somewhere else. However, local processing does not make your device itself private from other people who can see your screen, use your device, or read files saved on it. If you use a shared device, close the page when you finish, and do not leave a finished emergency card open on screen. If you print a card, keep the printed copy somewhere safe, and do not share it with people who do not need it.
Local storage: the setup checklist only
The only local storage use on this site is the New Galaxy Setup Checklist. That tool can save which boxes you have ticked, using your browser's local storage, so that if you leave the page and come back later on the same device and in the same browser, your ticked boxes are still there. This saved progress is stored only on your own device, in your own browser. It is not sent to this site, and it is not shared with anyone else by this site. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's stored data for this site, or by using any clear or reset option offered by the checklist itself. No other tool on this site is designed to save your entries in local storage. If you close a tool page, its entries are not kept by this site.
Your browser itself, your internet provider, and any software on your device may keep their own records, such as a browsing history, in the usual way. This policy cannot control those records, because they are not run by this site. You can manage them in your browser settings, for example by clearing history or using private browsing, if you wish.
Contact by email
There is no form on this site, so this site does not collect contact details through a form. The Contact page shows an email address for the site owner. If you choose to send an email, your email provider will handle that message in the usual way, and the site owner will see the address you sent it from and whatever you wrote in the message. Please do not include passwords, one-time codes, bank details, or other private information in an email to this site. The site owner will not ask you for such details by email. Emails are read by the site owner in order to answer questions about guides or tools, and to fix mistakes on the site. Emails are not sold, and they are not used for advertising.
Links and other sites
This site is designed without external links in its guides and tools. If you follow a link from a search result, an advert, or another website to reach this site, that other website will have its own privacy policy, and this policy does not cover it. Once you leave this site, by typing a new address or following a link elsewhere, the privacy practices of the new site apply, not this policy. Be careful with links in messages and emails that claim to be from a bank or a phone company, and always check an address before entering personal details anywhere.
Children
This site is written for adults, including older adults and beginners. It is not aimed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal data from children. There is no account system and no form through which a child could send personal data to this site. A parent or guardian who helps a younger person use a phone should stay with them, check the settings together, and make sure no passwords or codes are shared with strangers.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time, for example if the site adds a new tool, changes how a tool works, or starts using a service that was not used before. Any change will be described on this page, in plain language, and the updated policy will apply from the time it is published here. Because this site has no accounts and no email list, there is no way to notify individual visitors of a change, so visitors who want to stay informed should check this page from time to time. If you have a question about this policy, you can contact the site owner using the address on the Contact page.
This policy describes the position at the time the site framework was built. It is written in plain language on purpose, so that readers do not need legal training to understand it. If any part of this policy is unclear, please ask, and the wording will be made clearer.
